School Support Staff
School support staff play an important role in meeting the needs of students in our schools in order to deliver the best outcomes for young people across the Territory.
The successful implementation of the Middle Years will require commitment to the new approach and the contribution of school support staff as valued members of our schools will be crucial.
There will be no job losses as a result of the Middle Years implementation process, however the location of some positions may change. Principals will exercise flexibility with regard to employment options, and negotiate with individual staff, should that be necessary.
The department will be providing a range of support to schools, including support for school based staff during the transition process.
