School Facilities Update

Palmerston High School building work is underway in preparation for the establishment of the Palmerston Senior Years Sub School. However, due to earthwork complications and the shortage of skilled labour available to work on the project, the building opening will be delayed. The planned movement of classes – senior students to the new building and the current Year 6 students moving to Palmerston High – will now occur at the start of Semester 2.

Taminmin High School is being upgraded and expanded in preparation for the establishment of the Taminmin Middle Years Sub School in 2008. The project includes a senior school building, new staff facilities, a business centre, new nurse's office and covered amphitheatre.
Primary Schools in Palmerston and Rural Areas

From 2008, Palmerston and Taminmin high schools will accommodate students from Years 7 to 12.

Palmerston and Taminmin high schools will each be made up of a Middle Years sub school and a Senior Years sub school.
Priority Enrolment Areas

Middle schools and senior schools/ colleges will give priority enrolment to students who live in the local area. Enrolment in middle schools and senior schools or colleges outside the local area will be accomodated only if that school has sufficient space.
