Remote Schools and Distance Education

• All schools in remote areas will deliver a Middle Years program.

• Large schools in remote areas with approved secondary programs will establish a Senior Years sub school from 2007 and a Middle Years sub school from 2008.

• The Department of Education and Training will work with schools and distance education providers to deliver the Middle Years approach to remote students through a combination of distance education and face-to-face teacher contact.

• The Building Better Schools Collaborative Trial Sites and Specialist Teachers projects will further support the delivery of Middle Years in remote areas.
